Mountain Cranberry
Mountain Cranberry – Vaccinium vitis-idaea
Cranberry tea is primarily used in the treatment of urinary organs, that is, the bladder, ureter and kidneys; it helps with bed-wetting. The tea also has a good effect in rheumatism and gout. Berries made into marmalade effectively stop diarrhea and remedy lack of appetite. Cranberry juice promotes the excretion of urine. In the event of inflammation of the urinary tract, cranberry leaves are more effective than the bearberry ones. The leaves are odorless, tart and bitter in taste, while the berries have a sharp acerbic taste and a pleasant smell. The fruit is abundant in vitamins C, A and B. It grows in hilly areas, most often in pine forests.
