White lily

White lily – Lilium candidum

In folk medicine, white lily is used to treat heart conditions, female diseases, bronchitis, asthma, sinuses, cough, skin inflammation, ulcers, burns, and corns. It has also proven successful in skin diseases in the treatment of herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2. Essential oils are used in perfumery and cosmetics, for the treatment of inflamed purulent wounds and bruises. A mixture of olive oil and flower oil is a remedy for various skin ailments like dark spots on the skin, lichen, skin blemishes, and eczema. Lily pollen has shown good properties in the treatment of epilepsy. The whole plant is usable, thus the bulbs are used to make an ointment for wounds, scars, and burns, because it leaves the skin with no scars after injuries. In external use, compresses are used for skin inflammation, abscesses, swelling, and tumors.
