Hops
Hops – Humulus lupulus
Due to bitter substances, it stimulates digestion, has a calming effect, and alleviates or relieves cramps. Hops is used for all forms of sleep disorders, neurosis, irritability, poor appetite, restlessness. The effect of hops is known to be bacteriostatic – it prevents the growth of tuberculosis pathogens. Only female plants are grown for beer production. It grows on bushy banks as a liana, as well as in shady forest edges. Cultivated female flowers are harvested in August. Care should be taken when drying the hops to keep the cones whole. The tincture is used for better sleep, and tea is prepared for the stomach.
