Chickweed
Chickweed – Stellaria media
It is used to treat bronchial catarrh, to make it easier to expectorate mucus. Although it blooms all year round, except in winter, it is harvested in the summer, at the time of the most intense flowering period. The leaves are used for medicine. They contain calcium, essential oils, eugenol, antiseptics, and stimulants.
The drink that is prepared is drunk to stop the bleeding of the respiratory organs and hemorrhoids, and for clearing the bladder and kidneys of stones. It is also used to treat the eyes. A decoction of equal parts of wormwood, long plantain, horsetail and chickweed cures lupus. It grows as a weed in forests and between corn stalks, in meadows and fields, and in gardens.
