Bay laurel
Bay laurel – Laurus nobilis
Bay laurel is a noble plant of the Mediterranean, and grows in coastal areas. It is also grown as an ornamental plant; it is an evergreen shrub or a tree.
The laurel leaves are used for tea that helps against rheumatic pains, cramps and nausea. The extract from sliced leaves in alcohol is used for sprains, rheumatism, and pulled tendons. We use dried leaves in the cuisine as a spice in poultry dishes, for soups, fish, and in pickling with vinegar. It has a pleasant smell. Berry and leaf oil is used in the perfume industry.
